How long have you been doing what you do and how did you get to be a Peak Performance Specialist?
The best way to answer this may be to share with you the "compelling story" that brought me to where I am today, coaching people like you on what to do to achieve peak performance and reach the "top of their game" at work.
If you'd rather see a shorter, "formal bio," click here.
Looking back, I've been a student of peak performance since I started taking piano lessons at the age of five. My mother dreamed that I would become a world-famous concert pianist and by the time I was ten years old, I was spending three to four hours everyday at the piano practicing, winning prizes in state and national music competitions and performing as soloist with orchestra.
In high school, I joined the tennis team (promising my mother that it would not impinge on my piano time) and added two to three hours of training to my daily practice schedule and schoolwork. As a result, I learned how to prioritize for maximum efficiency (no watching TV!) and to achieve intense focus and concentration. I loved the days when I was "in the flow," zooming from class to the tennis court and then home to the piano totally immersed in each activity and fully engaged in the pursuit of my goals.
After graduating from The Juilliard School, one of the world's top performing arts conservatories, I decided not to pursue a career in music but continued to practice and perform. I entered law school and, again, attained a new level of focus and productivity, working part-time at a law firm, attending classes in the evening and then heading to the campus music rooms to practice until midnight in preparation for a piano competition (where I advanced to the finals and performed with orchestra).
Deciding to forego a career in law, I made my way to Japan, where I spent nearly seven years, learning the language and honing my communications skills working in investor relations. From there, I went to France, where I earned an MBA at INSEAD, the premier international business school.
Returning to New York, I started practicing taekwon-do, a Korean martial art which, thanks to the inherent discipline and structure, helped me further reinforce my powers of focus, concentration and mental stamina as I trained my way to a first-degree black belt.
Throughout my corporate career, I continued to enter competitions in both music and martial arts (though not at the same time!) and those periods of intense preparation, where every moment of the day counted, took me to greater heights of focus, discipline and productivity. Fascinated by the topics of peak performance and motivational psychology, I read every book I could on the subjects and experimented with the techniques on stage and on the mat.
As I translated this learning to my career, I had several epiphanies:
First, I noticed that if I was able to structure my work environment so that I could focus and concentrate, I could become engaged in and enjoy any task, whether it was a tedious administrative chore or creating a presentation on a tight deadline.
Second, I lived in a generally stress-free state, rarely bothered by the stressors that seemed to affect friends and colleagues.
I realized that most people do not know how to take control of their work environment: how to prioritize tasks, manage distractions and create conditions for focused concentration.
So I’ve made a commitment to devote my professional life to helping people ramp up their productivity: to get more done, more quickly with less stress. The result is my Top of Your Game Performance System™, a five-part program to achieving peak performance and maximizing productivity at work.
Who are your typical clients?
I work with people like you, entrepreneurs or corporate professionals in highly competitive, client-driven businesses who are exceptionally accomplished in their field of expertise; however, they haven’t been taught how to prioritize their tasks or set up systems to maximize productivity and deal with overwhelm. Examples include:
- Entrepreneurs
- Attorneys
- Traders and Brokers
- Hedge Fund Managers
- Creative Art Directors
- Financial Advisors
- Real Estate Brokers
I also develop customized programs to work on these same issues with small to mid-sized corporate teams.
How are you different from other "business coaches?"
Combining a background in competitive performance in music and martial arts with an MBA and over 10 years of general management experience in the corporate world gives me a unique position as a Peak Performance Specialist. What that means for you is that I have a keen understanding of the issues and demands you face at work, and can translate the focus and concentration techniques from my musical and athletic endeavors into real-world, nuts-and-bolts tips and techniques that will dramatically raise your productivity and work performance.
What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?
The Top of Your Game Performance System™ was created for the "elite athletes and performers" of the business world, those who are accustomed to a high level of achievement and absolutely committed to taking their work performance to the next level.
Working with me will be an action learning course: You will be expected to take serious and consistent action. No more excuses – just a dramatically different way of thinking and full support while you achieve this incredibly exciting goal: reaching the top of your game, quickly and effortlessly.
For what type of professional is this program NOT going to work?
Please know I'm very selective in who I work with, and choose to (gently) turn away people who aren't suited for this program and won't get the results they're seeking. It wouldn't be fair to them.
I also won't work with the whiner or chronic skeptic, as well as individuals who consistently make excuses for not doing their assignments or challenging every aspect of the program. If you are one of these people, I respectfully ask that you not call and hope you understand why: We'll probably just not work well together and I wouldn't want you to waste your time or money.
What exactly is The Top of Your Game Performance System™ and what does it include?
Increasing productivity and achieving peak performance begins with understanding where you are now and where you want to go. Then it means taking serious action. Here's what the System gets you to do:
Step 1: Make Reaching the Top of Your Game a Priority
First, we examine the status quo and determine which habits and behaviors don't serve you – are you prone, for example, to negative thinking, excessive worry or thinking small? It's vital that you make a firm commitment to change those habits and behaviors. As Anthony Robbins says: "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten."
Then, we work together to develop what I call the five "mental muscles": Awareness, Attention, Imagination, Risk-Taking and Sense of Fun.
Step 2: Gain Perspective, Take Inventory
To maximize your results, it is crucial that we have a thorough understanding of your core values, key strengths and limiting beliefs. By reviewing your career highlights and achievements – and why they are important to you – we can articulate your core values. This is a fundamental step as your goals must be aligned with your core values in order to ensure success. We also take inventory of your strengths and competencies so that we can leverage and further strengthen them.
Finally, we identify the fears and limiting beliefs that have been keeping you from taking your performance to the next level. This is crucial; otherwise, they will continue to sabotage and frustrate your efforts.
Step 3: Create A Blueprint to Take You to The Top of Your Game
Here's where we dive into the strategic and tactical aspects of peak performance. First, I coach you to flex your imagination – muscle and visualize what peak performance looks like for you. From this, we are able to establish your 90-day goals.
After evaluating the particular conditions of your working environment, we design a rigorous "distraction management" and prioritization system to take you to higher levels of productivity and efficiency. In addition, I share with you dozens of techniques that will enable you to get "in the flow" on a daily basis and achieve the razor-sharp focus and deep concentration that is the hallmark of peak performance.
Step 4: Expand Your Comfort Zone
To raise the bar and take your performance to the next level, it is essential to expand your comfort zone by incorporating risk-taking into your daily routine. I will coach you in the critical techniques that will ensure that you set yourself up for success, maximize your learning and celebrate your "wins."
Step 5: Recover, Recharge And Recap
It is important to understand and accept the cyclical nature of Peak Performance. Here, we will show you how to make the most of the slow-down and recovery period to synthesize learning and insights gained.
These are the five principal components of The Top of Your Game Performance System™ developed based on my work with high-achieving clients across diverse professions. In addition, you will learn a myriad of strategies and techniques to improve efficiency, increase your energy and improve your relationships with clients and colleagues.
Congratulations! By applying these five steps, your very own peak performance system will be in place and you’ll be able to greater productivity and results than you’ve ever experienced before.
Does this really work?
Yes! The result of our work is an approach to peak performance that, over time and with your dedication, works reliably to help clients consistently raise the bar and perform at the top of their game. See my Client Testimonials.
What results can I expect?
You can expect to:
- Sharpen your focus and intuitive thinking for quicker, more effective decision-making
- Banish time-wasters and turbocharge your productivity
- Eliminate anxiety and resistance to stay on track and accomplish more in less time
- Stretch your imagination to develop "possibility thinking"
- Leverage the power of "flow" on a consistent basis to gain deeper satisfaction in your work
- Reinforce your core strengths for even greater confidence and self-esteem
- Overcome limiting beliefs and perform at your absolute best under pressure and when it counts most
- Achieve clarity on your goals and reach them more quickly
- Stay accountable to and achieve these goals
How quickly can I expect results?
Obviously, this depends on how much you put into the process. However, virtually all clients see results within the first few weeks in the form of renewed energy, focus and motivation, and within several months in the form of new business generation, improved relationships with clients and a higher profile among their colleagues.
How can I guarantee that I will actually increase my productivity and reach the top of my game?
Do all of your assignments and show up for all your coaching calls. Be totally committed to achieving peak performance and understand that it's an ongoing, iterative process – not a quick, one-time fix. Every client who has diligently applied the steps of The Top of Your Game Performance System™ has successfully and significantly raised their productivity and ability to perform under pressure.
Will I recover the investment I put into this coaching program?
The answer is "yes!" Clients report that they are able to cover the coaching investment by generating significant new business, attracting their ideal clients, earning promotions and negotiating higher salaries, not to mention intangible benefits such as improved health, renewed energy and more time to spend with family and friends.
What you'll be getting with this coaching program is a regular stream of "aha!" moments and insights that will raise your performance more quickly than you could on your own. These will translate into more revenues, more clients and more free time – and that's what you're investing in, not simply minutes on the phone with me.
How will we work together and what does the program entail?
If accepted into the program, you will receive total support from me via personal emails and telephone calls. You will receive the full set of backup materials and resources, worksheets, articles, resources, useful websites and reading recommendations. Our one-on-one telephone calls will help to keep you on track and accountable so that you reach the top of your game faster than you would on your own.
What is your coaching program like?
Initially, you have two options to choose from, depending on how quickly you want to see results and how often you need to speak to me directly:
Based on my experience, it takes an average of four (4) months to implement and establish new habits and behaviors. In the past, I found that clients who stayed for shorter periods of time were getting results right away, BUT they were not reaching the tipping point of exponential growth possible from implementing new habits and behaviors on a systematic basis.

Now ask yourself this: Which of these two options do you think suits you best? If you were to do this, ideally when would you want to start?
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, in fact, credit cards are the only method of payment that we accept.
OK, I know which program I want. How do we get started?
Excellent! Did you know that one of the most prominent characteristics of successful people is that they take action? They take educated risks. Yes, they make mistakes (we all do); however, overwhelmingly, they are decisive, they take action and, as a result, they succeed faster. Successful people make decisions based on their gut instinct.
Since this feels right for you, here's what you do: Send me an email at info@intheflowcoaching.com and let me know which program will work best for you in terms of the results you want. We'll schedule a day and time to start our coaching and you'll receive a welcome packet over email. In it, you'll fill out your work goals as well as your contact and credit card information. You'll send this to me at least two days prior to your first call.
Based on what you wrote, I will customize a plan for you using your goals and incorporate the steps of The Top of Your Game Performance System™ to make sure you get the results you want. In this way, when we speak the first time, we hit the ground running, with strategies, assignments and insights that launch you on your path to peak performance.
OK, I'm ready to do this for myself, but I have a few additional questions. Can I call you?
Excellent, sounds like you're ready to take it to the next level! If you have questions about the coaching, simply send an email to info@intheflowcoaching.com and we will be in touch to set up a get-acquainted phone call.
